About Knowledge Graphs
A knowledge graph is a modern manifestation of the original Semantic Web vision. It is a means to structure information (knowledge) in a way that makes it not only easily searchable but also such that automated systems can draw logical conclusions (i.e., reason over) the information. The focus is on the relationships and connections between different elements of information. The founder of So Many Aircraft, Dr. Ora Lassila, has pioneered this technology. See these presentations of his for some more information specifically on how So Many Aircraft uses knowledge graphs:
- Ora Lassila: "Semantic Web standards and a little bit of Python go a long way", final presentation at the 2025 OMG Semantic Augmentation Challenge (winner), July 2025.
- Ora Lassila: "Browsing RDF - take 4", presentation to the Dataworthy Collective, December 2024.
- Ora Lassila: "Semantic Web and AI: Can we finally realize the vision?", keynote address at the 23rd International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC 2024), Baltimore (Maryland), November 2024. (video)
- Ora Lassila: "The Past and the Future of the Semantic Web - A Personal Journey", invited lecture to Bloomberg Semantic Guild, New York (New York), October 2024.
